Turbines Brave-ly set sail

Port of EsjbergThe Fred. Olsen Windcarrier vessel, Brave Tern, has finished the loading of four turbines destined for the Horns Rev 3 offshore wind farm in Denmark, and has set sail from the Port of Esjberg.

At the time of writing the vessel has made it to the Horns Rev reserved area and is west of the
Horns Rev 2 offshore wind farm, she will hoop around this array before heading towards Horns Rev 3.

The Port Authority said, "The Port of Esbjerg has been the base port through out the project and have been happy to assist both Vattenfall and MHIVestas in the process."  

The turbines currently aboard the
Brave Tern are the MHI Vestas V164-8.0 MW turbines, a total of 49 turbines will be installed at the array. The capacity of the the wind farm reaches above 406MW which will provide enough clean energy to power 425,000 Danish homes annually.
