Turbines touch down at Borkum Riffgrund II

Fred. Olsen WindcarrierTurbines at the Borkum Riffgrund II have been installed by the Fred. Olsen Windcarrier owned vessel, Bold Tern .

On the fifth journey undertaken by the vessel it installed a total of four turbines in four days, and the first
V164-8.0MW turbine installed on a suction bucket jacket.

Bold Tern is soon due to undertake its sixth journey to the wind farm where it will continue to install turbines.

On 1st June 2018, the first of 20 Suction Bucket Jackets (SBJ) was installed in the offshore wind farm
Borkum Riffgrund II. The 20 jackets were manufactured by ST3 Offshore in the Polish city of Szczecin and was installed by GeoSea.

After completion,
Borkum Riffgrund II will have an export capacity of approximately 450MW. This means that around 460,000 German households can be supplied with green energy. Full commissioning is planned for 2019.
