Vestas has announced a firm order to supply 44 V236-15.0 MW wind turbines for RWE’s Nordseecluster A offshore wind project in Germany, marking a significant milestone in Europe’s renewable energy sector.

The Nordseecluster project, located 50 km north of Juist in the German North Sea, is divided into two phases:

Nordseecluster A and B. The first phase will see Vestas supply, deliver, and commission 660 MW of wind power, followed by a 5-year service agreement and subsequent operational support.

Phase B of the project aims to add an additional 900 MW capacity, with a conditional order agreement in place for another 60 V236-15.0 MW turbines from Vestas.

Nils de Baar, President of Vestas Northern & Central Europe, expressed his enthusiasm: "We are pleased to be involved in this pivotal project for Europe’s offshore wind industry, reflecting our commitment to clean energy solutions. Our thanks go to RWE for the great collaboration."

Thomas Michel, COO of RWE Offshore Wind, added, "We are excited to enter the execution phase for Nordseecluster A. Many thanks to all involved. Our focus is now on delivery, and we look forward to future cooperation."
Wind turbine deliveries for Nordseecluster A are expected to commence in 2026.
