Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) and Foxwell have selected Vestas to deliver localised offshore wind turbines for the 300 MW TPC Phase 2 project.

The
TPC Phase 2 project is the second offshore wind farm being developed by Taipower in Taiwan and is being supported by Foxwell, which was named the project's EPCI contractor last year. It is set to feature 31 V174-9.5MW turbines mounted on jacket foundations.

It follows the development of the
Taiwan Power Company Offshore Windfarm Phase 1 Project – Demonstration (TPC wind farm).

The TPC wind farm is located near Fangyuan, eight kilometres off the West coast of Taiwan, and comprises of a total 21 units of 5.2 MW wind turbines, each installed on a jacket with transition piece, anchored to the seabed by four steel pin piles. The project is due to be commissioned in the coming weeks.
