Wind Innovation deploys for multi-project charter

C-bed's offshore accommodation vessel Wind Innovation has been deployed in the UK to support MHI Vestas Offshore Wind which is conducting upgrade operations at a number of offshore wind farms.

The vessel will support four wind farms across three countries. It will use of both Liverpool and Eemshaven for loading of supplies and crew change. It will also act as project base camp for operations on the
Burbo Bank Extension, Borkum Riffgrund 2, Norther and Walney Extension projects.

The vessel is currently positioned at the Burbo Bank Extension wind farm for the initiating part of the upgrade project. It will then head off to Germany, Belgium and back to UK waters.


C-bed stated the project requires special care in terms of bridging indispensable project parts such as HSE documentation, orchestrating logistics across multiple base ports, bracket design challenges, blade strike analysis and gangway height flexibility.


C-Bed, has stated that the 93m
Wind Innovationis 100% tailor-made for optimising the installation and commissioning stages for offshore wind farm operators. It has 80 single cabins but these can be expanded to 105 beds. To enable passengers to transfer, the vessel has an Up Time walk to work system.
