Dutch subsea cable logistics firm WIND has announced the opening of its new office Taichung. The company has been active in Taiwan since October 2020, when it first established a 2,000 m2 yard for storing offshore cables in the Taichung port area.

The new operational office aims to support offshore wind projects in Taiwan. It is situated close to the existing storage yard (now occupying about 12,000 m2) - the port and indoor storage facilities are also nearby.

Patrick Schelvis, Director Asia Pacific for WIND, said: "With our new Taichung office close to the port area, we can react rapidly to the needs of our customers. From here, we can efficiently organise and mobilise the movement of cables, as well as manage the outdoor and indoor storage areas and the careful handling of cables. The team here is looking forward to cooperating even closer with our customers from now on.”
