In December 2022, as scheduled, the last monopile for the
Baltic Eagle offshore wind project left the production line at EEW Special Pipe Constructions’ (EEW SPC) Rostock site.

A total of 50 monopiles, which have a diameter of between 8.75 and 9 meters, have been steel-structurally completed as well as coated. The installation of the monopiles is planned for spring 2023. They will be float transported to the site.

"We would like to thank Iberdrola for the trust they have placed in us. So far, everything has gone smoothly and we are delighted to have been able to play our part in the success of the project," said Robert Dreves, Managing Director of EEW SPC.

Iberdrola's 476 MW Baltic Eagle project is being developed off the island of Rügen, in the German waters of the Baltic Sea. The project, which will span a 40 km2 area, is expected to be completed in 2024 and consists of 50 Vestas V174-9.5MW wind turbines.Baltic Eagle will connect to the Lubmin substation through two high voltage cables. It is Iberdrol's second array to be built in the Baltic Sea. The first project was Wikinger.
