Copenhagen Infrastructure PartnersCopenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has signed an agreement with the joint venture partners Bladt Industries and Taiwanese Century Wind Power (CWP), covering the supply of up to 150 jacket foundations.

The agreement is for three offshore wind projects in Taiwan that CIP is developing. The three offshore wind sites have a total capacity of up to 1.5GW and are currently in the process of securing grid capacity.

With this agreement CIP has ensured local Taiwanese production capacity for the manufacturing of the jacket foundations for the projects combined with European knowledge.

Bladt Industries recently entered the growing Taiwanese market through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Taiwanese Century Wind Power Co., Ltd (Subsidiary of Century Iron and Steel Industrial) and CSBC Corporation, Taiwan.

The parties intend to cooperate on fabricating jacket foundations and outfitting transitions pieces for the offshore wind market in Taiwan. With its ideal location in Taipei Harbour, Century Wind Power will establish state of the art fabrication facilities for the purpose.

The Taiwanese Government has set ambitious goals for the implementation of large-scale offshore wind. The initial target is set to install up to 5.5GW by 2025.
