Hesselø Nedskaleret

11 May 2022: The consulting company COWI has, on behalf of the Danish Energy Agency, has carried out a fine screening of Danish sea areas for future offshore wind farms. A previous screening process took place in 2020. The new screening is to update data, reflect economic changes for areas Hesselø Nedskaleret, Kriegers Flak 2 Nord/Syd, Kattegat 2 and Hesselø Udvidet Syd and Nordsø 1/Thor II & III & IV. Overall, the screening shows that nothing precludes establishing offshore wind farms in any of the screened areas. Areas could be alternative locations for the current Hesselø tender and utilized to meet plans for an additional 2 GW as laid out in the 2022 Finance Act as well as further buildout.
