Vesterhav Nord/Syd Offshore Wind Farm

08 Mar 2024: Update March 2024: All turbines at Vesterhav Nord are now connected to the grid and delivering power. Update Jan 2024: All turbines at Vesterhav Syd are delivering power to the grid. Vesterhav Nord is expected to be fully commissioned in Q1-24. Update June 2022: Vattenfall expects the construction of the foundations for the 41 offshore wind turbines to begin in February 2023. During the spring and summer of 2023, cables and turbines will be installed, with commissioning by the end of 2023. Update May 2020: The wind farm is planned to be ready for full electricity production by the end of 2023. update: In March 2019 Vattenfall decided to delay the project due to decisions in late 2018/early 2019 to revoke and revaluate the EIAs. It is estimated that the supplementary EIA process will take 1.5 years and consequently the 2019 construction start date and 2020 commissioning date can no longer be met. In light of this Vattenfall has applied to extend the commissioning deadline to 2023 and has cancelled all major construction contracts to be retendered at a later stage. Latest commissioning date as per agreement with Danish state is 31 December 2020.
