29 Mar 2023: RTE is starting a 1ʳᵉ campaign of geophysical and geotechnical studies on the beach and the foreshore of Ouistreham, and offshore to determine the cable route. Beach and foreshore: The geophysical studies, from end-March to early April consist of confirming the absence of potential UXO targets (metal elements and/or explosive devices) and bathymetric measurements and other geophysical surveys, by non-intrusive methods. Geotechnical studies from 24th April for 2 weeks to take soil samples. Foreshore, geophysical studies will be carried out from April to May 2023 by the FARADAY boat and that a jack-up barge will also be mobilized from the beginning of June for a period of 3 weeks. Studies at Sea: Geophysical studies from mid-April 2023 (duration 1 month) confirming UXOs, bathymetric measurements and other geophysical surveys, by non-intrusive methods.Geotechnical studies from mid-June 2023 (duration 2 weeks). The corings (borings) are carried out every 1 km along the spindle of the submarine link by a ship equipped with a drill.
