SylWin1 Converter

The SylWin1 project involves a 864MW DC link. The wind projects located 70km to the west of Sylt will be able to feed large quantities of wind power into the German grid through the Slywin1 grid link. There will be 160km of submarine cable and 45km of overland cable. The submarine cable route in the coastal waters as well as the overland cable will run parallel to the route for the Helwin1 project. The link will be enough to supply up to 1.5 million German households with wind-generated power.
