Foundation Installation The first of 77 foundations was installed. The monopiles are 6m in diameter and weigh 750 tonnes. During the installation the noise is reduced by using a double walled system with an internal bubble curtain. The foundations were originally planned for installation in Spring/Summer of 2014, but rescheduled to start in early Winter through a change of installation sequence at the project. The fabrication of the foundations and transition pieces saw major delays (they were originally planned for completion by the end of the 2013) leaving a complex installation sequence with installation being undertaken as they were fabricated.
