Seaproof Solutions to supply CPS for Hornsea One

Seaproof Solutions has been awarded a contract to supply its Cable Protection System (CPS) for DONG Energy’s Hornsea Project One offshore wind farm in the UK.

The contract scope includes the design and supply of 248 CPS for the inner array grid submarine cables at the 1.2GW project.

This is the 13th offshore wind farm project for Seaproof Solutions, taking the total number of cable protection systems supplied to more than 1000 units.

When operational, the 1.2GW Hornsea Project One is expected to provide enough energy to supply an excess of one million UK homes. The wind farm is being built 120km east of the Humber Estuary and will cover an area of approximately 407km², which is over five times the size of the city of Hull.

The project will feature 174 Siemens' SWT-7.0-154 turbines which stand at 190m, larger than the Gherkin building in London. The turbines will be mounted on 116 monopile foundations and 58 jacket foundations.
