Subsea Electricity Interconnectors

An interconnector is a structure which enables energy to flow between networks. The term is used more specifically to refer to international connections between electricity networks.

Offshore Transmission Systems

Offshore transmission systems are used in a variety of ways. These include providing the connections between offshore renewable energy generation, and the national onshore electricity network, connecting disparate national grids together though subsea electricity interconnectors, connecting islands to the mainland national electricity network and grid reinforcement systems using subsea power cables over long distances.

Offshore Converters

Offshore Converter Stations are a type of offshore electricity substation generally used for the transmission of electricity over long distances to avoid power losses by converting the electricity from alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC) and back again. They are often referred to as AC/DC offshore converter stations.
