The EnBW 2 Baltic offshore wind farm is approaching the final stages leading up to fully commissioned. Today the final turbine was installed on site, all 80 turbines were installed by the vessel 'VIDAR'.

40 of the turbines are already generating power into the German grid, half of the turbines were put online last Tuesday (2nd June 2015). Another two turbines were connected up to the grid today, the rest shall follow over the next few days. All turbines are expected to be connected up early July 2015.

The project is being built 32km from the island of Ruegen, all 80 turbines are expected to amount to a total power of 288MW, the wind farm is expected to generate around 1,200GW hour of electricity annually. This will provide power for around 340,000 households and prevent 900,000 tonnes of CO2.
