The Hai Long Offshore Wind Project announced the official launch of offshore construction. Hai Long has obtained all relevant permits, and key components for the wind farm are arriving at the marshalling port. Taiwan's first locally built large offshore wind turbine installation vessel with a 360-degree rotating crane, Green Jade, will lead the way in the first phase of construction off the coast of Changhua.

Tim Kittelhake, CEO of Hai Long, stated: "The commencement of offshore construction marks another significant milestone for the Hai Long Project. With government policy support, solid partnerships with contractors, reliable supply chains, and a strong project team, we are confident in completing the wind farm construction on time and with high quality."

Hai Long will use the Green Jade as one of its main installation vessels. Approximately 40 vessels are estimated to be mobilized for offshore construction operations, with an expected deployment of 1,000 to 1,200 personnel for offshore operations.

The Hai Long Project has a total installed capacity exceeding 1GW and is expected to connect to the grid and generate power between 2025 and 2026. Once in operation, it will stand as Taiwan's largest single offshore wind development project, contributing to the nation's target of achieving 15 GW of offshore wind capacity between 2026 and 2035 in its renewable energy portfolio.
