European Energy A/S triumphs in case against Danish Energy Agency

In a recent development, European Energy A/S has emerged victorious in a legal battle against the Danish Energy Agency. The Danish Energy Board of Appeal ruled in favour of European Energy A/S, stating that the Energy Agency's rejection of their open-door applications was not in compliance with the law.

Expressing satisfaction over the decision, Andreas Karhula Lauridsen, head of offshore wind at European Energy, remarked, "We are very pleased that the Energy Board of Appeal has agreed with us that the Energy Agency's rejection of our open-door applications was not in accordance with the law. We now have the Energy Board of Appeal's word that the Energy Agency should have conducted a specific assessment of our open-door projects."

The ruling has annulled the Energy Agency's initial rejection and mandated a re-evaluation of the case. Lauridsen further added, "We look forward to the Energy Agency's specific assessment of our open-door projects. We have developed the projects in close cooperation and dialogue with a number of municipalities, which see great potential in using their local offshore wind resources to support local green growth. We are pleased to announce today that our joint projects will now be realistically assessed based on the local conditions."

The outcome of this decision underscores the importance of adherence to legal frameworks in the energy sector and paves the way for a more thorough evaluation of European Energy A/S's initiatives.
