4C is now TGS
We are excited to announce a significant milestone in 4C Offshore's journey. Our integration into the TGS family marks the beginning of a new era in offshore wind market intelligence.
Why Kriegers Flak?
The Danish part of Kriegers Flak is a 180 km2 area in the Baltic Sea. The area was identified by the DEA's (Danish energy Agency) offshore wind programme in 2010 as one of the most attractive locations for a future Danish offshore wind farm. The special feature of the maritime area Kriegers Flak is that Sweden and Germany have designated their territorial areas for offshore wind, which could lead to an estimated total of up to 1,600 MW of offshore wind turbines.
Energinet.dk's tasks
It is Energinet.dk's job to build and operate the transmission plant and infrastructure which brings power from offshore wind turbines into the main electricity grid on land. Nettilslutningsanlægget must be ready to transmit electricity from offshore wind turbines 31 January 2018. In order that the wind farm can be established with the least possible risk for future clients and to achieve the lowest possible price, Energinet.dk will also conduct feasibility studies (EIA and relevant seabed surveys, etc.). Energinet.dk's grid connection of Kriegers Flak is budgeted at 3.5 billion. kr. see interactive map of Kreigers Flak - click this link and zoom
