Offshore Structures (Britain) Limited– OSB – saw the daylight in November last year. The British company is established as a joint venture between the German company EEW Special Pipe Construction GmbH and the Danish company Bladt Industries A/S.

The facilities in Britain are currently undergoing modifications in order to accommodate the most optimizedproduction set-up for its future purpose. Drawing on many years of experience, Bladt Industries and EEW SPC are combining their extensive knowledge in the foundation production area to create a new effective local manufacturing site.

Offshore Structures (Britain) will have at its disposal 17 ha (42 acre) of land, more than 13,000 square meters of steel manufacturing facilities under roof and 2,000 square meters of blasting and painting facilities. The facilities are particularly well suited for the production of large tubular offshore wind foundations, most notably transition pieces for monopile foundations.

Burbo Bank Extension at OSB

OSB already has its first project lined up. EEW SPC has signed a contract with DONG Energy for the supply of 32 foundations – monopoles and transitions pieces – of which 16 of the transition pieces will be manufactured at the OSB site. The remaining 16 will be manufactured at Bladt Industries’ facilities in Aalborg.
