End of week 32, the first two monopile entry systems (Pro-MES) have been successfully installed by Van Oord, at Gemini OWF project.

Pull-in of both first end and second end of the cable, with Vos Prodect’s protection systems, were completed on schedule and without any problems. Operations have been witnessed by Vos Prodect’s representative.

Pro-MES systems have been tailored to the specific requirements of the Gemini OWF project, with a primary focus on easy installation and cost reduction.

The Gemini project, which should be operational in 2017, will be considered one of the largest wind projects in the world. It is also constructed further from land than any other wind farm (85 km off the Dutch coast). When complete, the park will have a total power capacity of 600 MW and will supply 785,000 households with green electricity, which corresponds to a reduction in emissions of 1,250,000 tons of CO2.
