Ørsted has successfully completed the underwater foundation for the first rack mounted negative pressure caisson at its 920 MW Dachanghua Southwest Phase 2 and Northwest Offshore Wind Farm. This achievement marks a significant step in the development of the project, highlighted by an 80-meter-high underwater foundation.

The completion was celebrated with a ceremony attended by notable figures including Danish Ambassador to South Korea Svend Olling, Tongyeong City Mayor Cheon Young-ki, Gyeongnam Province Trade and Industry Bureau Director General Ryu Myeong-Hyun, HSG Sungdong CEO Lee Jin-sang, union representative Park Kyeong-Tae, and members of the Ørsted project team.

Ørsted, in collaboration with HSG Sungdong since May 2023, has reached this milestone after a year of dedicated effort. HSG Sungdong employed innovative techniques in the assembly process, using a "rolling method" to weld nodes on the ground, minimizing high-altitude work and enhancing safety with a specially designed elevator for the transition section.

Progress is also being made on another batch of pipe rack negative pressure caissons manufactured by PTSC in Vietnam. Ørsted plans to implement this advanced technology in the Dachanghua Northeast Offshore Wind Farm, with components to be produced by a local supplier in Taiwan during the development phase.
