Alicat buys out from Gardline

The management team of Alicat Workboats Limited, concluded a management buy out of Richards Dry Dock and Engineering group from its parent company Gardline Group.

Recognised as a provided of bespoke marine, general engineering and electrical services. Alicat, which is based in Great Yarmouth, was established in May 2009 as a subsidiary to shipbuilders and engineers Richards Dry Dock and Engineering Ltd.

The MBO will see all the group's operations consolidated back to its Main Great Yarmouth facilities.

Alicat Workboats, along with its sister company South Boats IOW Ltd has constructed a large number of offshore wind crew transfer vessels in Europe in recent years, along with a proven track record of building, servicing and repairing vessels in all other marine sectors including oil and gas, ferries, pilot and service vessels.

The group will retain the current branded design range of Alicat and South Boat CTV's all of which are still available to be built at the Great Yarmouth facility or under an approved license agreement.
