International recruitment company Atlas Professionals has been selected to provide marine coordination services for construction and operation phases at Vattenfall offices across Europe.

The three year frame agreement, with an option for another two year extension, will commence on 1st March 2019. It covers the full marine coordination for construction and operation activities to any of the Vattenfall’s offices in Europe, mainly in Denmark, Germany, United Kingdom, Sweden, the Netherlands and France.

Atlas will provide and manage marine coordinators from the its office in Bristol (UK) in close cooperation with the Atlas office in the Netherlands, where its Renewables teams are based. The Marine coordinators will be responsible to track and coordinate vessel traffic, helicopters and offshore personnel.

Martine Rondeel, Commercial Director Renewables at Atlas Professionals, said: “We are very pleased that Vattenfall has selected Atlas Professionals to support and supply their Marine Coordination services for their European projects. We are committed to ensure all deliverables and objectives are met, while working in a safe environment.”

Vattenfall's currently installed capacity of offshore wind sits at 1,669MW, spread across the UK, Denmark, The Netherlands, Sweden and Germany. Its project pipeline exceeds 5GW. This includes the 610MW
Kriegers Flak and 350MW Vesterhav Nord and Vesterhav Syd wind farms off the coast of Denmark.

The company also
recently completed the construction of the Horns Rev 3 offshore wind farm. The project, located off the Danish coast in the North Sea, was originally planned to be completed in 2020, but is now expected to be completed as early as May 2019.

Off the coast of the UK, Vattenfall is currently developing the
Norfolk Vanguard and Norfolk Boreas offshore wind farms. The two wind farms combined could have a combined capacity of 3.6GW and produce enough power to meet the equivalent annual electricity demand of more than 2.61 million UK households. The company is also investigating an extension to its 300MW Thanet offshore wind farm, off the Kentish coast.
