BOEM announced the agency will now accept comments through July 5, 2018 regarding its proposed path forward for offshore renewable energy leasing on the Atlantic.

The original closure date for the Request for Feedback (RFF), which was put forward in the Federal Register on the 6th of April, 2018, seeking public input on its proposed path forward and factors affecting future renewable leasing offshore the Atlantic Coast was the 21st of May, 2018.

As a result of stakeholder requests for an extension of the comment period, BOEM will be accepting comments on the RFF through July 5, 2018.  A Federal Register notice regarding the deadline change will be published in the near future.

Stakeholders can submit comments either electronically or by written form.

One of the wind of the Atlantic coast is the
Bay State Wind project.

Bay State Wind is a 50-50 partnership between Ørsted, and Eversource. Together they are aiming to build the US's first commercial-scale wind farm, a proposed 400-800MW array located 15 nautical miles south of Martha’s Vineyard in the Atlantic Ocean. The project is expected to create more than 1,200 annual jobs during construction of the project and over 10,800 indirect and direct jobs over the life of the project.
