On May 23, the Port Authority of Algeciras approved a concession for Dragados Offshore to occupy approximately 400,000 square metres of surface area in the port facilities of Campamento, San Roque. This area includes the 263-metre Exterior Wharf, which will facilitate loading and unloading operations.

Dragados Offshore plans to develop this land by establishing a new construction yard, where the company will significantly invest to enhance its capacity for building 2GW HVDC platforms. This expansion aims to solidify Dragados Offshore's leadership in the sector.

The new yard in Algeciras will complement Dragados Offshore's existing facilities in Puerto Real, Spain, and in Tampico and Altamira, Mexico. This development marks a significant step in the company's growth, reinforcing its commitment to the wind power market and the energy transition through the construction of HVDC platforms in Europe.
