Walland has been in Østensjø Rederi for close to three decades, whereas the last five years as CEO. Walland will be succeeded by Kristian Helland Vea.

"Kenneth Walland, with his extensive operational, strategic and commercial skills, has with a steady hand lead Østensjø Rederi through rough times and positioned the Company for the future,"
said Johannes Østensjø, Chairperson of Østensjø Rederi AS.  "Further, I am excited to welcome Kristian Helland Vea as the new CEO of Østensjø Rederi. His track record, depth of operational and commercial experience makes him an ideal leader to build on the great work of Walland and the rest of the Østensjø Rederi team."

Vea, who currently holds the position of Chartering Manager Offshore & Towage in the Company, has accepted the role as CEO for Østensjø Rederi. Vea has worked for the Company for four years. Before starting at Østensjø Rederi, he spent 16 years at DOF whereas 10 years as Chartering Manager. Vea, being an experienced mariner, spent parts of his early career in the 1990s as an able seaman in Østensjø Rederi.

"I am greatly honored of being offered the position of CEO in Østensjø Rederi. I look forward to continuing building on the great foundation and growth potential in the business,"
said the oncoming CEO of Østensjø Rederi, Kristian Helland Vea.

"I am very excited about this opportunity,"
commented Walland. "Even though it is tough to leave Østensj Rederi after three decades, this is an opportunity I could not pass. Edda Wind is an extremely good platform in order to take advantage of the expected growth within offshore wind. The experience and knowledge we have built are unique. In addition, we have a newbuild program of six vessels at very attractive prices, which are optimised for the future need of the industry."

Edda Wind is now forming its administration with Kenneth Walland as the Chief Executive Officer. The administration will also include a small group of key positions.

The Edda Wind management will also consist of a Chartering Manager and a Chief Financial Officer. Håkon Vevang has accepted the position as Chartering Manager. Vevang comes from the position as Chartering Manager in Østensjø Rederi where he has been responsible for chartering within offshore wind. The position as CFO is vacant, and the company will commence the process of recruitment shortly.

"The establishment of an administration in Edda Wind is an important step in the development of the company. In order to further develop the company in a very interesting segment, it is crucial to have a dedicated management with the right experience and competence. Thus, we are very happy that Kenneth Walland has accepted the position of CEO. Walland and Vevang have proven very successful in developing the business so far, and we are confident that they are the right persons to further develop the company,"
said Håvard Framnes, Chairperson at Edda Wind.

Østensjø Rederi will continue to deliver ship management and corporate services to Edda Wind.

Edda Wind announced earlier this month that has ordered two Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOV) in addition to the four vessels the company has under construction.

The vessels are specially designed for service operations during the commissioning and operation of offshore wind farms. All six vessels are being prepared for instalment of zero-emission technology.

Edda Wind has been operating in the wind segment since 2015. Including the two latest newbuildings, the company will have a fleet of eight vessels, of which four are contracted on long term agreements. In addition, the company has options with the yard to build more vessels.
