4C is now TGS
We are excited to announce a significant milestone in 4C Offshore's journey. Our integration into the TGS family marks the beginning of a new era in offshore wind market intelligence.
ST3 Offshore is responsible for the construction of 20 foundations for the project. The works include final assembled jackets, coated and complete with secondary steel, electrical equipment, transition pieces and suction buckets. Last month, Jan De Nul's jack-up installation vessel Vole au Vent installed the first monopile foundation at the Borkum Riffgrund 2 offshore wind farm.
Array cable installation is also underway. A total of 110 kilometers of cable will be laid in the wind farm to connect the turbines and a cable will also be laid to the nearby Borkum Riffgrund 1 wind farm. The installation work is expected to be completed in July. The connection to the converter platform DolWin3 will follow about one month later. According to Ørsted, the project will be able to supply green electricity for the equivalent of around 460,000 German households. Full commissioning is planned for 2019.
