Global Wind Service opens training academy in Poland

Global Wind Service (GWS) has opened a Training Academy in Poland in an effort to further develop and strengthen its employees’ competences.

The Training Academy is based in Poland where different training services will be conducted. However, the facilities in Poland are meant as a base, as the vision, going forward, is to be able to conduct the training on site, where the technicians are, via mobile set-ups.

Currently, the training is via the Academy are the four GWO Basic Safety Trainings: First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire awareness & Working at Heights together with a specially GWS developed blade training. However, the aim of GWS Academy moving forward is to deliver GWO Blade Repair as well as GWO BTT.

“At GWS our product is the safe, high-quality and efficient installation and maintenance of wind turbines globally. A perquisite to successful operations on site is to ensure the right skills and mindset of our employees. With GWS Academy we take full responsibility for this. By providing the training inhouse to both green and more experienced technicians, we have a better possibility to provide development and quickly get to know the individuals. We ensure they have the right skills, competences but also the GWS DNA – to continuously provide the high safety and quality of work that we have become known for,” said Henrik Jensen, Chief Operating Officer at Global Wind Service.
