Hellenic Cables secures Ørsted cable contract

Subsea cable contractor Hellenic Cables has been secured a contract to supply 23km of subsea cable to Ørsted. The cabling is intended for use as spares within the Ørsted portfolio of offshore wind farms across the UK.

Hellenic Cables Cablel will undertake the design, manufacture, and testing of the 33kV inter–array submarine cable, and will produce the cable in its integrated submarine cable plant in Corinth, Greece delivering in early 2020.

Headquartered in Athens, Greece, Hellenic Cables is one of the largest cable producers in Europe, manufacturing power and telecom cables as well as submarine cables for various industries, including offshore wind and power grid connections. It also offers turnkey power transmission and distribution projects. The company’s production facilities include four plants in Greece and one in Bulgaria.
