Iberdrola progressing with German wind farms

Iberdrola is progressing with plans for its 476 MW Baltic Eagle and 10 MW Wikinger Süd offshore wind farms.

The Spanish developer secured the projects in the 2018 second transitional tender, with a bid price of €64.60/MWh for Baltic Eagle and a subsidy free bid for Wikinger Süd.

Fugro has completed geotechnical works at the sites and the environmental impact assessments and engineering works are progressing. Additional calls for tender have also been issued for the main wind farm components, such as connector cables.

Earlier this year, MHI Vestas was selected to supply up to 52 V174-9.5 MW turbines for the Baltic Eagle project. The offshore wind farm is scheduled to reach financial close in H2 2020, with offshore construction to start in 2022 and full commissioning by 2024.
