Foundation installation is progressing at the
Moray East offshore wind farm off the Scottish coast. Piling works are underway for installation of the project's 100 turbine jacket foundations. DEME Group is completing installation works, and has a deployed a purpose-built and patented piling template which integrates with the jack-up legs of Apollo. With more than 156 pin piles out of a total of 309 installed by Apollo, the piling activities have now officially passed the halfway mark.

The wind farm will feature 100 MHI Vestas
V164-9.5 MW turbines and three offshore substations. The generated power will be transmitted via three subsea export cable circuits to the landfall location at Inverboyndie bay on the Aberdeenshire coast. The onshore export cables continue underground to the Moray East substation, currently under construction near New Deer.

The 950 MW
Moray East project is being developed by Moray Offshore Windfarm East Ltd (MOWEL), which is a joint venture company owned by Diamond Green Limited (33.4%), EDPR (33.3 %), ENGIE (23.3%) and CTG (10%). The project secured a Contract for Difference of £57.50/MWh from the UK Government in 2017 and is due to start generating power in 2021.
