Northland Power Inc. announced over the weekend that the Hai Long 2 Wind Farm project has achieved a significant milestone with the successful completion of the topside installation for its offshore substation (OSS). The OSS, a crucial component of the wind farm, measures 52 metres in length, 38 metres in width, and 32 metres in height, and weighs over 2,800 tons.

This installation was carried out using the Taiwanese built vessel, The Green Jade, and is now securely positioned atop the foundation installed earlier this month. Northland Power extended their gratitude to all project partners, including CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering, for their vital contributions to this achievement.

The successful installation marks a key step forward in the development of the Hai Long 2 Wind Farm, underscoring Northland Power’s commitment to advancing renewable energy projects.
