RVO issues IJmuiden Ver tender

The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) has issued a tender concerning the IJmuiden Ver offshore wind farm zone.
The objective of this tender is develop an Integrated Ground Model (IGM) and a Geotechnical Interpretative Report (GIR) for the IJmuiden Ver Wind Farm Zone. This IGM and GIR should be of sufficient accuracy to allow (preliminary) foundation design. The deliverables of this assignment will be made available to the participants in the concession tenders for the wind farm zone at the latest in Q4 2022.

The IGM will be made based on the results of the geophysical work that is currently ongoing in the wind farm site. The IGM will then be used as input for the Geotechnical Campaign which will validate the geological model resulting from the geophysical investigation and to confirm the soil engineering properties required by developers to progress with their geotechnical foundation designs and other general design and installation requirements for the wind farm, as well as those relating to cable installation.

IJmuiden Ver offshore wind farm zone is made of of four offshore wind farm site which are expected to be tendered in 2023 and 2025. The four site each have the potential to host up to 1 GW of offshore wind energy.

The Netherlands currently has over 1 GW in offshore wind in operation with a further 3.4 GW past the consent phase. By 2023, the government expects that there will be 4.5 GW of offshore wind power operational, equating to 16% of the country's electricity needs.
