RWE UK Country Chair, Tom Glover, has lauded the UK Government's decision regarding administrative strike prices for renewable technologies in Allocation Round 6 (AR6). This announcement reflects the government's acknowledgment of the far-reaching global supply chain and inflationary pressures impacting the clean energy sector.

Glover expressed RWE's support for the reinstatement of a separate allocation pot for offshore wind projects in upcoming rounds. This strategic move is anticipated to secure future capacity, aligning with the UK's ambitious target of achieving 50 GW by 2030.

Emphasizing the crucial role of efficient renewable deployment in enhancing domestic energy security and achieving net-zero targets, Glover highlighted the positive implications of the recent announcement. He stressed the significance of sustained lower prices for consumers and the creation of high-quality employment opportunities.

Glover outlined that while the announcement marks a positive step in maximizing the UK's clean energy potential, reference prices and budget levels will dictate the procurement of capacity in subsequent auctions. RWE eagerly anticipates further updates in line with the government's deployment ambitions.

RWE stands committed to advancing the UK's clean energy landscape and looks forward to contributing to the nation's renewable energy goals.
