SeaRoc support south-east Asia

SeaRoc Group continues to support the expansion of offshore wind in South East Asia with the delivery of three separate consultancy projects across the region.

Taiwan - SeaRoc facilitated and chaired a Design Risk Assessment workshop for the Formosa 1 Offshore Wind Farm.

The workshop covered the full project scope, including all major sub-suppliers (Wind Turbines, Foundations, Installation and Electrical Balance of Plant).

Japan – an industry trade association for wind power in Japan, contracted SeaRoc Group to produce a report in partnership with The Carbon Trust on the European experience of Construction and O&M for Offshore Windfarms.

Korea - SeaRoc Group were commissioned by Hyundai Engineering & Steel Industries in South Korea to produce a report on the role of Marine Coordination and regulations governing offshore wind farm construction. This report included details of the infrastructure, equipment, systems, regulations, personnel and training requirements for carrying our safe and effective Marine Coordination.

Steve Pears, SeaRoc Group Managing Director commented: “South East Asia is a growing market in terms of offshore wind, with a number of projects already in development and many more in planning. We are increasingly being contracted for our vast experience in the sector and have become a reliable and trusted source for critical information and education in these developing markets.”

The news comes after SeaRoc Group’s recent announcement of their new Head of Consultancy to drive this area of the business. Neil Pittam was confirmed for the role on 12th June and will be responsible for delivering the company’s strategy to provide specialist support and advice to developing markets within the offshore renewable energy sector.
