Senvion and Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum II GmbH & Co. KG (TWB II) have announced the continuation of their cooperation for Trianel Windpark Borkum II. The project partners have agreed on a new supply contract, which will ensure supply of wind turbines for the wind farm.

The project's remaining 17 out of 32 wind turbines are supposed to be delivered in Autumn 2019. According to the initial timing, construction was supposed to start in mid-April 2019. By then, 15 of the 32 wind turbines had been delivered on time and transported to the base port in Eemshaven.

Senvion filed for self-administration on April 2019. The original general contract between Senvion and TWB II therefore had to be adjusted. The service contract with Senvion remains unchanged. TWB II is in direct contractual relationship with subcontractors for the installation of wind turbines.

"We want to thank our customers of TWB II for the constructive talks. The positive outcome secures the continuation of one of our key offshore projects during these challenging times",
said Yves Rannou, CEO of Senvion.

"Together with Senvion, we have found a viable solution that ensures the production and on-time delivery of the remaining wind turbines. This enables us to continue the construction phase of the offshore wind farm and start the installation campaign in June",
said Klaus Horstick, Commercial Director of Trianel Windpark Borkum II GmbH & Co. KG (TWB II).

The 203MW
Trianel Windpark Borkum II project will cover an area of 33km2 and is located approximately 45km north of the island of Borkum, North Sea. It will feature 32 Senvion 6.2 M152 offshore wind turbines, each with an output of 6.33MW. Companies behind the project include EWE AG with a share of 37.5% and a joint venture of the power utility of the city of Zurich with 24.51%. It is owned by public utilities cooperation Trianel, together with 17 municipal utilities from Germany, which hold a share of 37.99%.

It is located in the direct vicinity of the 200MW
Trianel Windpark Borkum I project, which consists of 40 turbines and has been in operation since the summer of 2015.
