WIND nominated for Dutch shipping award

Dutch subsea cable logistics company WIND has announced that they have been nominated by The Royal Association of Netherlands Shipowners (KNVR) for the Dutch Shipping Award 2015.

WIND received the nomination for its role in the development of recovery of long distance, out-of-service subsea cable systems.

In 2009 WIND developed a system which consists of converting cargo vessels into recovery vessels and includes development of special cable recovery equipment, development of cable recovery procedures and training of crews. Since implementing this system WIND claim they have successfully recovered 15,000 km of cable.

WIND is a shipping company providing logistic services to the subsea cable industry and is active worldwide. The company's client base includes subsea cable manufacturers, subsea cable installation companies, offshore marine contractors and utility companies.
