ZTT begins work on “Super Projects”

ZTT has started work supporting China Three Gorges Corporation with the construction of its Jiangsu Rudong 800 MW (H6 #, H10 #) “Super Projects”.

Its scope of work includes the laying of 220 kV and 35 kV submarine cables for Rudong H6 # as well as installation of 100 sets of wind turbines and their foundations. In addition, in order to serve this "Super Project", ZTT is deployed a number of vessels including Zhongtian 7, Zhongtian 8, Zhongtian 9, Yuanwei No. 8 and Zhongtian 5.

The Jiangsu Rudong 800 MW (H6 #, H10 #) projects are among the first ± 400 kV flexible Direct Current (DC) transmission offshore wind power projects in China. The DC submarine cable has a transmission distance of about 100 kilometres, which is currently the highest voltage flexible DC submarine cable with the longest transmission distance in China.

ZTT claim its ± 400 kV flexible DC submarine cable breaks through technical bottlenecks such as low-crosslink system soft joints and is the world's highest operating voltage cable capable of 1,235 kV. It has passed the technical appraisal by China Electricity Council and the Jiangsu Industry and Information Technology Department.
