The planned offshore transmission system is designed to deliver offshore wind energy generation from offshore collector platforms to the onshore electric grid. The States of New York and New Jersey,are planning to develop 9,000 and 3,500 MW of offshore wind respectively, between 2030 and 2035. The Project is expected to have a ±525 kV High-Voltage, According to the plan, a 1200 MW HVDC transmission cable will be connecting offshore wind energy with the existing PSE&G 500 kV Deans Substation in South Brunswick, Middlesex County, New Jersey.
