IJmuiden Ver Alpha Converter

Windfarms within Ijmuiden Ver area will connect to shared offshore HVDC converter platforms and the voltage level is transformed from 66 kiloVolts AC (kV) to 525 kV DC. Export cables will reach landfall at Borssele (via Veerse Meer). One onshore converter station at Belgiëweg Oost transforms power to 380 kV AC. Power connects to the National Grid at the existing high-voltage substation in Borssele.
