11 Apr 2022: Update: The consultation period is extended by 14 days for the regional municipality's consultation: Call for ideas and proposals for the planning for a high-voltage station to Energiø Bornholm. The new deadline is May 23, 2022. The Danish Energy Agency invites citizens, companies, authorities and others to comment on the supplement to the delimitation of the environmental assessment of the plan for Energiø Bornholm; carried out as a 4-week consultation in the period 11 April to 9 May 2022. The basis for the plan for Energiø Bornholm has subsequently been expanded to include an expanded feasibility study area.  The DEA are investigating up to 3.2 GW and potential for overplanting by 20% i.e. allowing for more turbines to be installed than the connection capacity to help compensate during periods of lower generation. This will result is a total installed offshore wind capacity, including overplanting, of 3.8 GW. The wind farm Developers will be able to decide if economically optimal overplanting capacity. The Plan areas expect to include Bornholm I Nord & Syd (123 km2 and 118 km2) and Bornholm II (410 km2). Areas include internal cable network, offshore transformer stations and corridors of approx. 2,000 meters wide for export cables that connect the offshore wind farms with Bornholm. Offshore a number of cable corridors will connect Bornholm to Zealand and neighbouring countries. Onshore infrastructure includes cables, substations and converters on Bornholm as well as cable landing in Køge Bay, Zealand, converter at Solhøj west of Ishøj high voltage station. A final draft plan is expected to be published at the beginning of the first half of 2023 which will include specific areas in the Baltic, on Bornholm and Zealand for the development and key parameters. However, it has not been politically decided whether more than 2 GW can be established in the expanded area and up to 15 km from the coast. The delimitation statement for the environmental assessment has been amended to account for the potentially increased number of turbines and planting density. It is expected that the final draft plan for Energiø Bornholm with accompanying environmental report will be sent for 8 weeks of public consultation in the first half of 2023. The offshore wind turbines are expected to be tendered 2024/25. Tender conditions have not yet been set.
