4C Offshore Empowering Intelligence
21 May 2021: Update May 21st: the Ministry of Ecological Transition issued its decision on the follow-up of the debate for continuation of the project. An area of 130 km2 was identified for the first 250 MW tender, and the zone will be gradually reduced during the competitive tendering procedure, taking into account the results of the technical and environmental studies that will be carried out there by the State and RTE and the continued consultation with the users of the sea. The debate also concluded a 233 km2 area for the later 500 MW extension project. The consultation procedures for the connection in shared alternating current for two parks, of approximately 250 megawatts then of 500 megawatts maximum, and the procedures for obtaining authorizations, will be initiated by RTE. The public debate closed on 21st December. Two months after the close of the public debate, the Chairman of the special public debate committee publishes a report containing all the opinions and arguments expressed. his report is accompanied by an assessment of the debate established by the president of the National Commission for Public Debate. Three months after the publication of the report, the contracting authority (Ministry of Ecological Transition, RTE and Brittany Region) will indicate the follow-up given to the project, and the lessons learned from the public debate. This decision is made public.
