29 Oct 2021: TenneT has accelerated plans for offshore wind connections post-2030. The Wind Booster project, also referred to as the LanWin-Hub, is based on a modular distribution hub concept with a 6 GW capacity. Commissioning is envisaged for 2032, three years earlier than originally planned. The hub will connect windfarms in the LanWin cluster. According to the Area Development Plan (FEP), published by the BSH in late 2020, areas N-11 to N-13 have potential for 10 GW, and were originally designed with 2 GW point-to-point connections and commissioning by 2035 (Q1 2021 MOR). According to TenneT there are several configurations for which areas can be connected to the LanWin Hub. Preference will be given to layouts enabling direct connection between the Hub and windfarms, i.e. without intermediate substations and cables. The remaining 4 GW will most likely be connected with point-to-point connections by Amprion until 2033. Confirmation is needed in the FEP and NEP.
