4C Offshore Empowering Intelligence
03 Feb 2023: The Danish Environmental Protection Agency, as the authority for the Espoo Convention, received notification of the establishment of the German offshore wind farm "Windanker" in the Baltic Sea. Due to transboundary environmental impacts a consultation is carried out until 24th February by the Danish public, Danish authorities and Danish interest organisations. A scoping document has been drawn up for the wind turbine area and a strategic environmental assessment will be carried out as part of the suitability test procedure. Located 38 km northeast of the coast of the island of RĂ¼gen and north of the wind farm "Wikinger". The water depths are between 41 and 46 meters. It will feature 21 turbines with a rotor diameter of 230 - 240 m and with the planned hub height of approx. 140 - 145 m up to a total height of approx. 260 m. The rated power of this type of wind turbine is between 14 and 15 megawatts. Offshore wind farms are founded on monopile foundations. Transmission via 66 kV array cables.
