GMS Endeavour berths in Blyth

ØrstedGulf Marine Services’ E-Class jack up barge, GMS Endeavour, is berthed at the Port of Blyth ahead of its work on the Hornsea Project One offshore wind farm.

The vessel will provide accommodation support during the construction of the project. It will be joined by sister vessel GMS Evolution shortly. Both vessels will provide offshore accommodation for up to 150 technicians and offer safe access via a static gangway to the three offshore substations and reactive compensation station.

As well as providing a place for those commissioning the substations to stay, the vessels will be fitted with a Osbit boat landing system, enabling safe transfers to crew transfer vessels, even when jacked up and without interference to operations on the substation. This will create an offshore hub, allowing technicians working on other areas of the wind farm, such as the wind turbines, to stay on the same vessel.

The GMS Endeavour , provided a similar service at the Wikinger offshore wind farm. The vessel was jacked up against the project’s substation providing accommodation for technicians.

Offshore construction recently kicked-off at Ørsted’s Hornsea Project One offshore wind farm which is located 120km off the Yorkshire coast. The first of the 174 monopiles has been installed at the site.
