Lithuanian Tender 2 Offshore Wind Farm

15 Apr 2024: Update 15th April 2024: VERT has announced today that only one participant registered for the 2024 tender. As a result the tender did not take place in accordance with the Law on Energy from Renewable Sources and the description of the organization of tenders and permits for the use of part of the maritime area for the development of power plants. The State Energy Regulatory Council (NERC) have highlighted intentions to restart the tender but have not yet announced a date. Update 15th January 2024: VERT has today announced the 2024 tender for constructing a wind farm in Lithuanian waters. They have released a timeline to state that registration is open for potential developers until 15th April 2024. The approved list of developers will be announced no later that 27th May 2024, with the provisional winner being decided no later than 31st May 2024. Once the developer with the winning bid's entry has been evaluated for compliance and security interests, the official announcement will be made at the beginning of August 2024 Update November 2023: The Lithuanian government have confirmed a date of 15th January 2024 for the announcement of the second tendering round. Update October 2023: Second tender has been delayed and is now planned for the 15th January 2024, although this date is yet to be confirmed by the government. The Lithuanian Ministry of Energy is preparing for a tender which will start as planned on 1st September 2023. The Tender will consist of: - Registration stage -Qualification verification stage - Stage for submitting proposals for the development of power plants in the maritime territory.
