Saint-Brieuc Offshore Wind Farm

06 Jul 2022: Update 6th July: Saipem 7000 completed installation of the electrical substation on 6th July. Technicians from the Equans and Smulders companies will work on the OSS for its commissioning. Once operational, the fully automated substation will be piloted and controlled remotely Update 13th June 2022:The load out of the 3,400-ton topside took place at the assembly yard  Equans in Hoboken. The jacket foundation of about 1,600 tons was safely loaded onto a pontoon from the yard of Smulder's subcontractor Heerema Fabrication Group in Vlissingen. Following the successful load outs, the topside and jacket sail away is expected ater this month, after which the installation will be take place 16.3 km off the coast of France. Update May 2021: The platform's sail away is planned for Spring 2022. The joint venture of ENGIE Solutions and Iemants (subsidiary of Smulders) was the contract for the construction of the offshore substation for Projet éolien en mer de la Baie de Saint-Brieuc. As of September 2020 engineering and construction works had begun. Sail away of both the topside and jacket is scheduled for the spring/summer of 2022. Saipem has been contracted for the transportation and installation of both the jacket and topside. The Saint-Brieuc offshore substation consists of a 63-meter-high jacket of 1,630 T and 315 T piles and a topside weighing approx. 3,400 T. The topside is 55 meters long, 31 meters wide and 23 meters high.
