MHI has kicked off test operations of hydraulic drive train technology, full-scale prototype will be tested at Hunterston onshore test field in Ayrshire (UK) in the Autumn of 2014, was initially June 2013. Mitsubishi has awarded AMBAU the construction contract for the tower. Testing on the blade was conducted at the Fraunhofer Institute in Bremerhaven. Testing of the blade wrapped up on the 19/06/2014 without any problems. The prototype is on course to be constructed in OCtober 2014 at SSE's onshore test site at Hunterston, Ayrshire. Mitsubishi announced they have abandoned plans to develop the turbine, and will focus on development of its hydraulic drive as a standalone component.
