Salamander Floating Wind Farm

24 Apr 2024: Update April 2024: Salamander has submitted for consent for both the generation and transmission assets. Design envelope: • Up to 7 turbines • Up to 8 mooring lines and anchors per turbine (56 total) • Maximum tip height of 310 m • Maximum rotor diameter of 250 m • Maximum hub height of 172.5 m • Power to shore either via extended array cable, or subsea hub Indicative construction plan: • Fabrication begins April 2026 • Onshore substation January 2027 - December 2028 • Onshore cable March 2027 - September 2028 • Offshore cable installation April 2028 - October 2028 • Mooring and anchor installation April 2028 - October 2028 • Turbine and substructure installation March 2029 - September 2029 • Full commissioning October 2029 Project expecting to submit for consents in Q1 2024.
